Imperial Beach is located 20 miles south of San Diego’s downtown and lies on the Mexican border. It is the southwesternmost city in the continental US. Home to the US Open Sandcastle Competition, the sand is beautiful and the beach is mostly quiet and private. If you are looking for relaxation and to escape the crowds, Imperial Beach is the perfect place.
